WPF freehand annotation responsiveness

Testing on version 11.2.14, the responsiveness of freehand annotations on a touch device(Windows 8.1 Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet in this case) either by finger or stylus is noticeably slower using the WPF component vs the Winforms component.
Testing comparison apps used were the sample apps; \Winform\vb.net\annotations\ & \WPF\Annotations\
I'd use the Winforms component, except that it does not seem to support vertical scrolling via finger touch, where the WPF component does.
Has anyone found solutions for wither of these issues?
Or is there possibly an update in the works to address either/both?
