License Check Error on Windows 10

Post by nvprogman » Wed Mar 30, 2016 3:11 am

The GdPicture LicenseManager is getting the following error

This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.

The error is occurring on the line

GdPicture.LicenseManager oLicenseManager = new GdPicture.LicenseManager();

The Windows 10 PC has the following registry key set to 1 (Enabled)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy

This setting is one of the standard settings for the Windows 10 configuration that is being rolled out on the US Government computers. Please advise on how this problem can be resolved. The program runs fine if the registry key is set to 0 (Not Enabled) but we cannot have the government users set change the setting as it is part of the standard configuration they must adhere to. I am using GdPicture.NET Document Imaging SDK Ultimate 8.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do for the version 8. This version is not maintained since four years and Windows 10 was not available at this time.
The only thing I can suggest is to alter the registry (as you already do) or to update to the latest version.

With best regards,

Loïc

Would update to the latest version solve this issue? Can we get an evaluation of the latest version to test this problem? Also please provide the update cost from version 8.

Thank you.
