Gdpicture 9 - PDF Critical Issue
Hi,
We’re experiencing a critical issue, when we’re merging a large amount of PDF files, the memory use and output file is 4GB+ with 45,000+ pages.
The PDF file is created and there are no errors from GdPicture, but when we try to view it in Adboe Reader we can see the first couple of thousand pages without a problem until we reach a certain point, then pages seems to be corrupt, and we get a error message (109) from Adobe Reader.
I’ve been looking into it abit deeper, and using GdPicture I can extract/clone pages from the corrupt file after the page that breaks the pdf, I can also extract text from the page.
But it’s not possible to view it from a certain page nor print the PDF.
This problem always occurs when we merge a large PDF file 4GB+, all is compiled in x64.
We’re running version 9 (9.4.0.11).
Is this a known issue, are there any later builds available that fixes this or do we need to upgrade to v12 to have a fix?

Hello,
I don't think that GdPicture 9 supports more than 2GB file creation. This has been introduced in version 10 or 11.
Have you tried with version 12? You can obtain a one mont trial key after the installation of the package that you can obtain here: https://www.gdpicture.com/download-gdpicture/
Just let me know if you need further information.
With best regards,
Loïc

Re: Gdpicture 9 - PDF Critical Issue
it works fine to create files up to about 4GB, even after i can create and process files, but when i save them they become corrupt from a certain page and forward, probably when the file exceeds that limit.
Re: Gdpicture 9 - PDF Critical Issue
Yes, I know that. This issue is about a 2GB offset limitation which has been elevated starting the version 10 or 11. The file can be created and contain more than 2GB data but the internal references to position > 2GB will be truncated.

Okay, so if we upgrade to version 11 or 12 we should be good and this issue has been resolved?

Absolutely.

I just did download the trial for version 12 and added a trial key, and tried out our process, but we're actually experiencing the same problem.
