Strange behaviour of "PdfAdvancedImageCompression"

Post by EFernkaes » Wed Jan 25, 2017 9:37 pm

Hey guys from Orphalis,

I am using GDPicture 12.0.47 and I was irritated about the file sizes of the created pdf's.

By the way, your code in the online documentation has an error (red):
http://alt.infoscan.de/GDPicture/ExampleError.png

The correct method Name is .AddImageFromBitmap
(And you are missing a 't' in the word oGDPicturePDF (green))

Back to the topic. I took this picture as base:
https://alt.infoscan.de/GDPicture/BaseImage.jpg

And used this code to generate 3 PDF with different compression-methods:
https://alt.infoscan.de/GDPicture/TestCode.png

The expectation was, that the compressed PDFs will have smaller sizes than the uncompressed one.
But no way:

Can you explain this behaviour?

And by the way, is it not possible, to add an image with the MRC-compression option to the PDF and place it on a position on a existing page instead of creating a new page with the dimension of the image? You don't provide the PdfAdvancedImageCompression option for "AddImageFromBitmap" to get an image resource name.

Thanks in advance.
Reinhard

Hello,

Could you check with the latest version? i am obtaining save result for color detection and none which is the expected result with the input bitmap.

Kind regards,

Loïc
