Keep viewer session alive

Hello,
I am building an ASP.NET MVC5 application for scanning and viewing documents.
One of our app's features is a possibility to remain users logged in even if no activity is performed. I would like to know, is there a simple way to refresh DocuVieware session using the JavaScript API? To be clear, I don't want to make session to never expire. Session timeout is necessary. I just want to simulate activity which could let me to keep a session alive until for example user logs out or simply closes the browser. So far I achieved it by periodically calling a PostCustomServerAction function. I think it would be useful to have a function in your JS API which simply refreshes session without performing any other action.
[EDIT] I think that this post should be moved to the DocuVieware section. Sorry for my oversight.
