Help & Advice required

Post by Clive » Thu Mar 14, 2024 12:00 pm

We are a small museum/charity & have just acquired a Plustek OpticSlim 1180 A3 scanner which suited our finances. we were previously using Epsom Perfection 3490 Photo A4, now a bit old but has given excellent results.
We do now have some larger documents to scan for our archive and required the increase to A3.
We have a bit of a problem when scanning some old brochures etc from late 1800's early 1900's where the background to the text/drawings has a distinct pink tinge rather than a true reflection of the actual colour which is usually an off white/buff shade due to the age of the paper.
Have enquired with Plustek but they imply that its a reasonably priced scanner & that how it is!!!!
They have suggested we should perhaps look at Twain software? We are certainly not technical & really need some direction in what the best solution is, can anyone help.

Hello Clive,

My name is Ben Goble and I am a Senior Technical Support Engineer at PSPDFKit. I would like to chime in here and say that one of our products, called ORPALIS Paperscan, may meet your requirement for scanning. Please see the website for it here:

On that site, you can download a free version of Paperscan to see if it meets your needs. If you have any further questions, please log a ticket with us on the following site and I will be more than happy to help.
